Training Course Registrations

During November 2024, Training course registrations are changing.

New registrations will now be made directly into SAFE.

You can see all our Upcoming Training events on the Upcoming Training page

Click on the Course Title to see more information about the course.

Click on the Register button to be transferred to SAFE to enter your Registration details.

If you do not already have a SAFE account, you should create one.

Log in to SAFE

Under the Apply menu, select Training courses.

You will see a list of open courses.

Alert

If the course you are interested in does not appear, it may not have been moved to the new system yet. Find the course on the Upcoming Training page and select "Register" and it will take you to the correct registration page

Click on the 'more info' link to go to the event page and see the full details.

Click on the Course ID to register for the course.

Click on 'Apply' to start your registration.

Completing the Registration form

Enter a brief statement under "Reason for applying"

Select the region where you are currently living/studying/working from the list of options.

A username will be auto-generated for you - this will be a new machine account for the course project only.

Tick the box to accept the Terms and Conditions of access and Training Code of Conduct

Paste in or upload your ssh public key if you do not have a default key set up in SAFE already

If you have any Additional support needs for accessing our training courses, please detail these, briefly.

Click on 'Apply' to submit your registration.

You will see a message confirming 'Course requested' and a note of the query number in our system.

Registration Approval

Your registration will be reviewed by a member of the team and once approved you will receive a confirmation email with the course details.

If the course includes access to our HPC services, your account will be set up immediately in the course project and you can go ahead and complete the account setup, adding your ssh key (if not done as part of registration) and set up your MFA
